Today it's packing time! We made reservations last November through Magical Vacations Travel. We were able to get a great deal on a deluxe resort stay, and we have patiently been counting down the days and paying a little each month to have it paid for in advance. It seems like we just started our 100-day countdown and now it's the day after tomorrow! I have to work tomorrow all day, so today is the big packing day!
We are driving from Arkansas all the way to Lake Buena Vista, FL. For us that means 16 hours in the car, one-way. With a 4 year old and a 13 (almost 14) month old. That thought alone has me questioning my own sanity! Truly though, Tyler and I love to travel by car. I am too much of a control freak to let others (ahem, the airline) control my travel plans so I would much rather listen to music, drink Icees and talk to my hubs while we drive. The vacation begins the moment we leave the driveway. On road trips with the babes, he's the driver and I'm the circus ringleader, doling out food, changing movies, and making silly faces to keep everyone happy.
Pack & play for Princess, my awesome new cooler bag I scored at Sam's for $9, and a bunch of blankets & sheets for the kiddos.
Food. If there's one thing my crew needs, it's snacks! I try to be decently healthy with them, but hey, it's vacation and it's ok if we eat some junk along the way. Much cheaper and probably still healthier than picking up junk the whole way there (and after).
The kids' stuff. Obviously clothes, shoes, undies, lots of glow sticks, and a ton of car ride stuff. It probably deserves it's own post and will give me something to do in the car. :)
Working on our clothes & stuff currently. Otherwise, the car is clean, the mail is on hold, and all I gotta do is get through one day of work tomorrow before we can take off and vacate reality for a bit!
